In PARIS it is all theater; a presentation of facts washed in soft
light. You are not a tourist. You will not be holding that bundle
of red balloons at the Eiffel Tower, because you know that Paris will
skin you. Paris is the capital of Trance. You live here. You soak
in your tub. You hate the police. You walk outside. And as you turn
the corner, the air bloated with fog, you check your phone to remind
yourself; you are just a blue dot, moving through an ancient city.
